Dr. John A. Bonadies
Dr. Bonadies earned his medical degree in 1988 from the University of Vermont College of Medicine following his undergraduate education at Cornell University. He returned home to New Haven to complete his surgical training at the Yale-affiliated Hospital of Saint Raphael and ultimately established his practice. He garnered further expertise in trauma and critical care at Hartford Hospital before returning to Saint Raphael’s to direct both the surgical intensive care unit and the trauma program.
With expertise across the entire spectrum of general surgical problems from the routine to the everyday, Dr. Bonadies has garnered a wealth of experience caring for patients over his 20+ year career.
Dr. Bonadies is proud to be board certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery, is an active Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and holds membership in numerous surgical societies including the prestigious New England Surgical Society.
Dr. Bonadies has received recognition for both his teaching of surgery to young surgeons and for his dedication to patient care.
Dr Bonadies has lectured for medical residents and the Annual Meeting of Athletic Trainers on sports hernia repair.
Dr. David S. Katz
Dr. Katz earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Miami. He attended the University of South Florida College of Medicine earning his medical degree in 1981. He received his general surgery training at the University of Connecticut/New Britain General Hospital in New Britain. Dr. Katz is Board Certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Katz has been practicing general surgery in the Milford area for the past 31 years.
Dr. Katz has served as the Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Milford Hospital and on the Medical Executive Committee. Dr. Katz also served as the President of the Medical Staff at Milford Hospital. He has served as the President of the New Haven County Society as well as the President of the Connecticut State Medical Society.
Dr. Katz is affiliated with Griffin Hospital, Milford Hospital, North Haven Surgery Center, Yale-New Haven Hospital's York Street campus and Yale-New Haven Hospital Saint Raphael campus.
Our mission is to achieve a safe, effective, patient-centered hernia repair through the use of proven technology and individualized hernia surgical techniques in order to treat our patients with minimal discomfort and to enusre quick recovery times so that our patients can quickly return to work and their normal lives after hernia surgery with optimal long term results.
